DERMAPLANING

Dermaplaning is a safe, non-invasive treatment to exfoliate and smooth the skin using a scalpel blade to gently scrape off the top layer of dulling dead skin cells and vellus hair (peach fuzz). The exfoliation also triggers cellular rejuvenation to promote collagen growth, improves skin tone and texture, reduce the appearance of fine lines and scarring, instantly revealing the newer, radiant and youthful skin. The treatment has no downtime and safe on most skin types.

Concerns: Fine lines, sensitive skin, peach fuzz, dull skin, dry skin, sun-damaged, uneven skin tone.

It is also safe if you are pregnant or nursing and looking for a deep exfoliation without worrying about chemicals or ultraviolet rays seeping into your skin with this technique.

BenefitsCan be performed alone to see an immediate result; It clears away the damaged skin cells to promote the newer skin, and allows products and laser procedure to penetrate skin more easily, so we often combine it with DiamondGlow Dermalinfusion, Laser treatments and Chemical Peels to give our clients an optimal result.

Course of treatment: A series of treatments is recommended, spaced 2-4 weeks.

Dermaplaning FAQ

What are the benefits of Dermaplaning?

  • Removes dead skin and peach fuzz from your face

  • Resurface facial skin for an immediate radiant complexion

  • Exfoliates irritated or dehydrated skin

  • Evens out skin tone, improves texture and promotes collagen growth

  • Reduces acne scars and fine lines, Improves hyperpigmentation, and blemishes

  • Enhances the results of other treatments

  • Clear and clean canvas for better makeup application

  • Non-invasive, no side effect with no downtime

  • Effective for most skin types.

How does Dermaplaning work?

At Ease Medspa, the treatment starts with a skin consult with your esthetician, followed by a soothing cleansing, toning, and moisturizing to prepare your skin for the treatment. By aiming a sterile blade at a 45-degree angle and dragging it slowly across your skin, your esthetician will remove the dead skin cells, scar tissue, and other debris that may make your skin's surface look uneven and aged. After the treatment is finished, your esthetician will soothe your skin with a nourish cream, and apply sunscreen to protect your face. For optimal results, monthly Dermaplane procedures are recommended.

What skin conditions should avoid Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is an effective procedure for many skin conditions, however, treatment is not recommended for the clients with active acne, or excessive production of sebaceous gland oil, you should wait until your complexion has cleared up. If you are currently taking retinoid medications, you should avoid it because it may cause undue irritation and discomfort during the dermaplaning procedure.

Why is it special?

Dermaplaning is unique because it does not use chemicals or other abrasive particles that can irritate the skin. The treatment is great for:

  • Clients who are pregnant or nursing and should avoid chemicals

  • Clients who are allergic to chemical peel solutions

  • Clients with darker skin tones who do not qualify for light-based procedures

  • Clients seeking to decrease the appearance of vellus hair on the face

  • Clients with sensitive skin

What is Post Care?

The treatment doesn't require any downtime for recovery. After the treatment, you can expect some redness and your skin will be highly sensitive to sun exposure, so be sure to wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation.
